Home The Inn at Shady Lawn; Newland, NC

Carrying on the tradition of Southern Appalachian hospitality in the heart of the High Country.

The Inn at Shady Lawn is an iconic fixture in the Newland and Avery County communities. For over 65 years, the prior owners, the Ray family; provided hospitality to travelers visiting passing through our quaint, small but gorgeous area.

In December of 2021, Nathan and Suzzannah Gittner, purchased "The Inn at Shady Lawn", with a bold, bright and innovative vision and plans of continuing and expanding the Ray family’s legacy of hospitality.
